Magdalena (2020)
The craft of lace making was used by the Catholic Church as a way to create an 'honest living' for destitute women.
This piece also takes the misrepresentation of Mary Magdalene as a sinful woman, rather than a beloved disciple of Christ and uses the lace as a representation of devotion, cracked and disfigured by lies of religious patriarchy. (wood, lace, porcelain)
